Treatment app for pediatric amblyopia patients (Software as a medical device)
Amblyopia, affecting 1–5% of children, may result in permanent visual impairment if left untreated. Conventional treatment typically involves corrective glasses and occlusion therapy using an eye patch to cover the stronger eye. However, this approach presents challenges: children often resist wearing the eye patch, leading to treatment discontinuation; caregivers must provide constant supervision; and doctors face difficulty effectively monitoring treatment progress.

To address these issues, we are developing an innovative amblyopia training method that minimizes psychological and physical burdens. Key features of this approach include displaying a clear image to the amblyopic eye while blurring the image for the normal eye, enabling vision improvement in the weaker eye with just 30 minutes to 1 hour of daily use. The treatment schedule is customizable to suit individual needs.

By incorporating a Kendama game in a virtual space, the method reduces resistance to treatment among pediatric patients. The game also enhances hand-eye coordination, further enhancing therapeutic outcomes.

Smartphone app for diagnosis of Dry eye Disease
Dry eye causes various symptoms, such as scratchy and burning sensations, redness in theeyes, and more.
If left untreated, sever dry eye can sometimes lead to serious conditions such as decline functional visual acuity ,corneal epithelial disorders, and even mentalhealth issues. Research indicates that approximately 1 billion people worldwide are affected by dry eye.
However, many patients remainundiagnosed worldwide. For instance, while dry eye is well-known condition in Japan, approximately 72% of patients are not diagnosed.
To address this issue, we have developed a diagnostic assistance tool for dry eye disease in the form of a single app'.
Our app have dry eye diagnosis function combined measurement of maximum eyelid opening time and disease-specific questionnaire. This is non-invasive just try to keep eyes open and respond to the questionnaire.
This product can also be used for telemedicine, enabling the diagnosis of a larger number of dry eye patients.

This is one of the application examples using SustainaCircuits, our copper inkjet based sustainable flex circuits. Every electronic device needs a connection and RF is used in every device. RF performance is the same as conventional manufactured products and can be easily replaced with them. Evaluation has been conducted for LTE, BT, BLE, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Multi-Layer Sustainable Rigid PCB
Our Sustainable Flex Circuits extend more customer demanded rigid PCB. This is the same as additive manufacturing using inkjet copper printing and plating. Of course, VIA is available and copper printing has also been adopted within VIA design. This also helps reduce the use of rare earth materials. The sample shown is a four-layer board based on FR4 substrate, and the design is a widely used MCU board that can be used in many embedded applications.

224G Jumper Cable Interconnect solution
As requirements for data transmission speed is reaching upper limit of existing printed circuit board (PCB) technologies, it is becoming more difficult to realize constant and reliable data transmission performance. To solve this problem, JAE and Yamaichi Electronics jointly developed a jumper cable interconnect solution which can perform stable data transmission at 112Gbps/224Gbps PAM4 signaling. This interconnect solution has been designed with a compact connector size to be able to fit in a high density design requirement, and can be utilized in several different usages including direct jumper cabling from the front panel pluggable IO to host chip, or the internal chip to chip connection.

In-Vehicle AOC (Active Optical Cable)
JAE envision a society in which autonomous driving using 5G or 6G will become a reality, and JAE believes that optical fiber will be used for in-vehicle networks. Edge Base Station (under development by Panasonic)
The edge base station is a tiny but high-performance base station which supports sXGP, 4G, 5G and local / private 5G, as well as protocols such as LoRa and Wi-Fi.
This product is also equipped with edge computing functionality and comes standard with applications such as human flow measurement, reservation management and order processing, which can continue to operate at the edge even when the connection to the cloud is disrupted.
We are also studying collaboration with BBSakura Networks' mobile functions over OCX, such as seamless connection between private and public networks and authentication functions, with the aim of providing services in line with the Beyond 5G era*. Despite its compact design, the edge base station is equipped with a wide range of functions and is intended for use in a variety of applications, including smart cities, factories and autonomous facilities.

Today, we are facing the challenge of an "OTA test environment" in practically applying 5G/6G mobile communication.
Testing MIMO and Carrier Aggregation with the conventional methods of using multiple monopole antennas and horn antennas is very difficult. And protocol tests and EVM tests are not cost-effective due to the large size equipment. But we can propose an OTA test environment realize these tests in a small shielded box easily.
Instead of the conventional huge anechoic chamber and Reverberation Chamber, Morita-tech presents the Shielded Box and the Antenna Couplers that allow desktop scale OTA testing. By using MIMO test Antenna Couplers, maximum throughput communication tests and protocol communication tests and handover tests between terminals and base stations are easily accommodated for OTA tests (4X4MIMO, 8X8MIMO, ENDC test, NRDC test) in a compact OTA Shielded Box.

SSIC will showcase the demo board "ASUKA Board." The ASUKA Board provides a customizable development environment using the baseband SoC "ASUKA" for IoT user equipment (UE) to promote the spread of IoT UE in the Beyond 5G (6G) era.

The baseband SoC "ASUKA" features a scalable architecture. It is a software-defined SoC that allows for functional modifications, enabling it to keep pace with the continuous evolution of communication standards. It includes various expansion interfaces such as PCIe (Gen4), JESD204B, and USB 3.0, allowing users to customize functions via PC connections.

The ASUKA Board also supports an open development environment that enables coordination between base stations and terminals. Users can customize the UE alongside base stations, allowing for simultaneous customization of both. This facilitates the construction of IoT solutions, implementation of new features, and verification in an SDR development environment.
